Who Should Work With Us?

In our first post this week, we introduced the paper project and why we were undertaking it. Yesterday we outlined why we wanted to work with an academic institution. Today we’re going to look at who our partners on the project will be.
Build2Sustain operates as a construction consultant. That is to say our role is to coordinate the project, manage the timeline and deliverables, facilitate communication between stakeholders, maintain transparency of process, develop sustainability strategy, and of course recruit team members.
Back in November we reached out to the community of architects and designers for resumes to build out the team of professional B2S could call on for future projects. If you submitted to that request...we thank you and depending on the location of our academic partner, we will certainly be contacting you. If you didn’t respond to that request, lets talk a little bit of who our ideal architect will be.
We’re looking for an architect who’s willing, nay enthusiastic about sharing their design process with the worldwide design/build community. Opening up the process of designing solutions is at the core of Build2Sustain’s ethos. Our architect is captain of the ship and so he/she must be ready to be as open as possible.
Sustainability is imperative (heck, it’s in our name) so this can’t be our architect’s first “green” design. A background in LEED qualification and standards is required but not sufficient to qualify as our architect.
All that being said, we’re looking to partner with an architect (or architecture firm) that’s ready to think differently about how to work with clients, what sustainability means, and how to change the world.
What about other disciplines? Lighting designers, mechanical engineers, building envelope experts, landscape architects...the list is endless. The short answer is...we just don’t know yet. Once we’ve partnered with an college/university we’ll know better what their needs are, at that time we’ll be able to round our the team. If you’re interested..please contact us. We’d love to connect with you...
Are you up for it? Email us paperproject@build2sustain.com
Tomorrow on the blog, I’ll outline what the 12-week program entails is and what our client and design team can expect to attain at the end of that process. Thoughts? Questions? Comments? Email us...or as always the comment section awa
